About:  Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) shares the vision of our founder and creator, Alexandra “Alex” Scott—a cure for all children with cancer. Alex held her first lemonade stand after receiving a stem cell transplant in 2000 to raise money for “her hospital,” and continued to hold the annual sale until she lost her battle with cancer in 2004.  Since then, children and families all over the world have sold lemonade and raised money to support Alex’s mission.  That money has funded cutting-edge research projects, and helped support families of children receiving treatment.  Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is the living embodiment of Alex’s spirit of determination and hope in working to eradicate childhood cancer as well as improve the lives of children and their families as they battle the disease.

AboutThe goal of EWB is to partner with developing communities worlwide to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects, which may address water and sanitation, energy, and waste concerns. We currently have 5 projects:

Ecuador- Retrofitting an old water distribution system and adding a chlorine disinfection system.
Mexico- Installing solar panels on homes too rural to connect to the grid to give them electricity for the first time.
Moldova- Installing sanitary latrines and wash stations at a school house, along with teaching sanitary habits.
Peru- Installing double pit latrines near households
Chapel Hill- Working with a historically African-American community in Chapel Hill located near a regional landfill (conducted a water and sewer infrastructure survey and currently assisting with a community garden.)

Funds raised through this initiative will fund the Ecuador project.

About: As a nonprofit, donor-supported organization, the CF Foundation has made a tremendous difference in the lives of those with CF. Today, the median predicted age of survival for people with CF is more than 37 years—more than double what it was 25 years ago. In addition, more than 45 percent of people with CF are age 18 or older.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s goals are to advance understanding of CF, create new treatments, and find a cure or control for the disease.
