Elemental Threads is a socially responsible custom-made handbag business. During the month of November we are donating 10% of sales to select charitable organizations. Below is one featured organization; click here to view the full list.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a national organization that trains and supervises community volunteers who are appointed by court judges to represent the best interest of children who have been abused and neglected. This organization was founded in 1977 by a Seattle, WA judge who wanted trained volunteers to become his eyes and ears in the community and report back to him with recommendations of what needs to happen to protect these children. Northern Essex County CASA Program began serving children in Northern Essex County, Massachusetts in 1992 and today serves about 100 children in two courts. Twenty years ago, the National Kappa Alpha Theta organization chose CASA to be their national philanthropy. Over the years, Theta sororities across the nation have help spread the word about CASA and the need for these vulnerable children to have a voice in the court system. The money raised by Theta helps CASA’s efforts to recruit and train more volunteers to advocate for child victims.
